An alternative with a substrate thickness of 0.127mm is available as special
manufacture.
Applications:
PTFE tape is used to repel unwanted material and substances and therefore
has high release characteristics with exceptional temperature performance.
It is used in:
Nip Roller Wrap for Polyethylene and Polypropylene coaters.
Doctor Blade Coater (helps preventing a build-up of contaminates in the
Print and Coating industries).
Seamless Belt Manufacture.
Plastic Extruder Heads (helps preventing costly maintenance due to build-up
of extruded waste).
There are always more components for different applications (Aerospace, Automotive, etc.) being made from composite
bonded lay-ups.
PTFE is used as masking film in manufacturing of aircraft as protection film during bonding metal or composite parts:
the tape is applied to define the areas in which the adhesive must not rest .

The adhesive components used often generate an exothermic reaction and produce a T ° increase during polymerisation.
The advantage of PTFE is that the material has a great resistance to high Temperatures(exothermic reaction) and that during the tape releasing (after polymerisation) it leaves no adhesive residues. PTFE is available as follow in transparent/brown color and also in blue and orange color.
Non-stick, disposable surface created by PTFE film assure smooth and sure release from component made molds and tool.
This tape is designed to provide clean removal during masking operations involving high temperatures.
Masking edges of overlap seams in bonding process where excess adhesives flash flows onto tape.
Clean-up is complete upon tape removal.
