80-50 Adhesive Paper Tape - Green DATA SHEET
General Description

Based on a repulpable paper carrier coated with a water soluble acrylic adhesive and a silicone release coat for easy unwind.

The tape can be used for many splicing purposes but specifically as a BACK SPLICE for splicing casting papers (on the non-release side) as used in the production of synthetic leather. Since the tape is repulpable with a water soluble adhesive it must be protected from humidity. The Splicing Tapes will withstand the temperature conditions encountered in the production of synthetic leather and will last through six or seven production cycles. What this means is that the tape can go through the production process 6-7 times, so when the casting paper is reused, the tape can also be reused too.

The tape offers excellent adhesion to casting papers for both PU and PVC synthetic leather production and will withstand the demanding temperature requirements encountered in this industry. 80-50 is particularly suited for PU Production. For PVC Castings, especially papers with a coating at the back or heavily embossed, 80-60 Kraft Paper Tape may be more suitable.

A particular benefit of 80-50 is that it is thinner than our other back splice tapes and therefore offers a high degree of flexibility and conformability.

As a repulpable tape it is sensitive to water and humidity and must be protected from it. For this reason each roll is individually wrapped. The tape should be used within 12 month of arrival at customer.
Note:
Adhesion can be improved by applying tape with a plastic applicator (available free on request). Under cold conditions a warm iron pressed over the tape will also improve adhesion. Storage: Use within 12 months and store in dry conditions and in original packaging. Protect from water / humidity / extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.
